Letter from Pastor Reggie

Spring is upon us, a great time of year with the fresh smells of blooming trees, flowers and new life! I just love it!  It’s important to recognize seasons of life. Remember what Jesus said to the Pharisees?  In Luke 12, He said that they could discern the weather and times of the seasons, but not the time of the coming of the Son of Man.  They were naturally minded, not spiritually minded.  They were religious, but not spiritual.

Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”  Jesus didn’t come to bring us religion, but He came to bring us life!  Abundant life!  Life to the full, both natural and spiritual!  Hallelujah!

The more religion you find, the less life you find.  The more life you find, the less religion you find.  Well, you certainly won’t find me hanging around old, dead religion.  I’m going to be around life!  I’m going to be where the Spirit of the Lord is moving and active!  Praise God that He has always been moving and active here at Family Worship Center!

On another note, I’ve been talking about the “gifts of the Spirit.”  God wants us to desire spiritual gifts.  We can’t decide to give ourselves a gift, spiritual gifts only come from God.  He graces us with gifts, as HE wills.  It is amazing how He uses people differently – “gifts differing.”

Jesus went about doing good – praying for the sick, ministering the word of the Lord, providing for people and even raising people from the dead.  I believe that if we just went about doing good more, we’d see the gifts operating more – both in everyday life and in the church.  God wants to use us all!  Let Him use you!

You are so very loved,

Pastor Reggie
