May letter from Pastor Reggie

Sunday, May 5, 2013 in Blog

We are honoring two major events this month: Mothers Day, May 12, and Pentecost Sunday, May 19.

First, it will be such a joy to honor our mothers. Mothers, you are so precious and what you do is
so important. You have such an influence on your children and your home. You really help set the atmosphere. Make sure it’s a good atmosphere, one permeated with prayer, praise and worship.

I think of my dear mother often and thank God for the tremendous impact she has had on my life. Without her prayers, who knows where I would be? Make sure you pray for your kids so someday, you will see the fruit of your prayers. Prayers are like seeds, they are planted in the soil of faith – so keep expecting your prayers to be answered for your children and children’s children and their children! Join us for a great Mother’s Day which will be especially designed with you in mind!

Second, what a wonderful celebration we will have on Pentecost Sunday, historically and experientially!  We will have special prayer in this service for those who long to be filled with the Holy Spirit.  (Bring your Catholic friends, because Mary experienced Pentecost!)

Jesus said in John 16:7, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if
I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.”

Hallelujah! The Holy Spirit came just like was promised. He is the Living Water. And Jesus said out of your bellies will flow rivers of living water. This He spoke of the Spirit, which they would soon receive.

Remember, it was just 50 days after Jesus rose from the dead that the Holy Spirit was poured out on this notorious day known as Pentecost! The promise was fulfilled. The Comforter came! He is our Helper, Comforter, Teacher and Friend. He is the Guide on the inside!

Hope to see you all month – especially on Mother’s Day and Pentecost Sunday. What a great month to celebrate!

Love ya,

Pastor Reggie
