Family Worship Center

Letter from Pastor Shawn Scarborough

Tuesday, March 17, 2020

Please take a moment to read this communication in its entirety:

We have made the difficult decision to postpone gathering for the next few weeks.

This decision affects Sunday Worship, Realife, Prayerlife, Fuelife, Fuelhouse, Kid’s Zone/Jr and ALL weekly meetings / events at Family Worship Center.

Last week, our Governor said if we chose “to hold a mass gathering, we should do so with extreme precautions in place.” Based on the information we had, we did exactly that. And by the way, we had an AMAZING worship experience. However, the most recent government issued requests are different. The President of the United States asked every American to avoid gathering with more than 10 people for the next 15 days. Additionally, the CDC pleaded for a potential pause in mass gatherings for up to eight weeks. Because of the range, we do not have an exact date we will return.

What will we do during these weeks?

We will livestream each service at the usual time. Sunday Worship will broadcast at 10:30AM and Prayerlife will happen at 7PM on Wednesday. Even though there is no audience, these services will still happen live- therefore, it’s all happening at the same time you are watching.

To access the livestream, visit our website at or join us on social media for the live broadcast via Facebook. You can also access live services on our Roku and Apple TV Channels.

Our new series Just Jesus will begin this Sunday, March 22 at 10:30AM.

Watch Party

It is our hope that you will make these moments as live as possible. Connect on the largest screen you can find. Gather the family or a few friends together and avoid distractions. Just because we are virtual doesn’t mean we need to be casual. We want you to fully engage with the experience!

In the meantime, we will continue to provide counseling, visitation, emergency ministry and prepare curriculum and worship for the weeks to come. During this “pause” we will deploy extra sanitization methods throughout the campus to ready our facility for everyone’s soon return. We will, absolutely, continue to pray for you and encourage you on the phone or online.

This is our plan today. If national or local updates warrant another pivot, another decision may be made at that time. Updates can be found at

Please take this time to connect with your church family in other personal ways- social media, text, phone, email…whatever! We want everyone to be as connected as possible during this season of social distancing.
